Since Robin is out in California enjoying her honeymoon, I thought I’d revisit my honeymoon from four years ago – wow, time flies!

Aidan and I also went to California for our honeymoon and loved every minute of it!

We flew into LA and drove to Santa Monica. We stayed at the historic Georgian Hotel right on the coast. It’s this boutique hotel that originated in the 30′s and is oozing with charm.

You can’t see from this picture, but the exterior of the hotel is a bright aqua blue, which definitely stands out among the more drab and gray hotels along the strip.

We partook in the typical touristy stuff out on the pier, including ferris wheel rides and yummy, seafood dinners….

And then a day trip to Universal Studios!

Then it was off to our favourite place, Coronado Island, which is just off the coast of San Diego.  It is this quaint little beach town and was actually just recently named the best beach in the U.S.!

And right, smack dab in the middle of the island is another historic hotel, The Del Coronado, where we spent the rest of the ‘moon.

This hotel opened in 1888 and has a very rich history of playing host to Presidents and Princes, American legends and has been the backdrop for some big Hollywood movies!

See what I mean about the beach? It’s huge!!

And the pools aren’t that bad either

While in San Diego, we partook in some more touristy things…

Surfing…for the record, I started out really well and Aidan ended off really well. Needless to say, we both couldn’t move that night.

And some drives along the coast. This photo was taken in La Jolla, which we loved!

And here we are on our last night of the ‘moon.

Oh man, looking at these photos makes me want to do this trip all over again.  Hopefully Robin and Jesse are having as much fun as we did!
