L.A Good Times
July 10, 2012Next Stop….Los Angeles!
L.A was just like I thought it would be. Everyone is uber trendy and unbelievably beautiful!
A couple months before I bought us tickets to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno so we had to make it L.A by a certain time. We got there a little early to make sure we made the cut! After a long time of waiting outside in the crazy hot heat, we finally were seated inside the studio. And guess where they put us…..FRONT ROW ON THE FLOOR! Jesse and I were so excited, and the best part was, the only section that was able to go up and shake Jay’s hand in the beginning of the show was ours! The two heads circled is the back of my head and Jesse’s side profile.
We hadn’t booked a hotel yet, so I opened up my trusty Lonely Planet book, took their advice and we made our way over to The Standard. What an awesome choice, thanks Lonely Planet! After chatting up the concierge and slipping in that it was our honeymoon, she graciously upgraded us to one of their top suites. It was ridonculous!
Everything was open concept, so no hiding behind any doors!
I don’t know why but there was this giant foot in the washroom!! I used it as my vanity chair.
The walls were painted to blend in with the curtains and camouflaged in there was a lamp! So clever!
I especially loved all their branding.
They had this retro organ in the lobby. It didn’t work though… I tried!
I loved their patio furniture too!
We only had one full day to explore around the city, so we hit up a tour bus and went everywhere we wanted to see.
All of the window displays were stunning! This one was from Ralph Lauren.
While in LA we couldn’t leave without visiting the happiest place on earth…..DISNEY LAND! I cannot express to everyone how excited I was to go. My whole entire life I have dreamed of getting there and I finally did. During the parade I almost burst into tears because I couldn’t believe I had finally made it!!!
We spent over 9 hours there!!! Jesse was such a good sport.
I don’t know what happened, but unfortunately, half of our Disney Land and all of the Santa Monica and Venice Beach photos were deleted and I can’t seem to retrieve them. I am so sad but hopefully they will stay instilled forever in my head!!
Have an awesome day Mouseketeers!

Loooove the photos, Robin. Looks like you and Jess had such a great time haha. (Slash I couldn’t help but think that was such a Japanese-girl cute reaction to the Disneyland parade! I know that Amy would totally do the same thing if she ever got to go to the Miyazaki museum in Japan! hahahah)
These are such nice photos! Looks like you guys had a lot of fun in L.A. I laughed a little when I saw the jay leno picture! It must have been so much fun watching the show LIVE!!
I love Disney also! I’ve wanted to go back ever since I left when I was 8 years old. It really is the most magical place on earth
Knowing you got choked up breaks my heart Robin xoxo
Also, The Standard is amazing. I went there five years ago and every time I see it in a movie or on a tv show I feel so cool…it doesn’t take much
